Artist: We aim to share the work of artists who aren’t often in the spotlight, to be inspired by their work. This item features art by Piotr Michałowski, "Austrian Hussar on a bay horse" (1822). The equestrian theme was inspired by the Széchényi’s love of horses.

Heritage: The Széchényi’s are connected to the von Trapp's by way of the matrilineal line. The von Trapp children's mother, Agathe Gobertina Whitehead, had a maternal grandmother, Agathe Gobertina Széchenyi. Grandmother Széchenyi was the great-niece to Count István Széchenyi—considered to be "the Greatest Hungarian” statesman.
